Hosting Account Improvements
We want hosting with Ice & Fire to be a worry free experience. As part of that we monitor your site and perform security tests on it regularly – a full security scan normally being done once a week. But once a week just didn’t work for us and we would rather sleep a little better at night, so we have a new system in place, and every single site we host will now have a full security scan done automatically once a day.
These scans will not affect your sites response time, though they are scheduled to be done in the early hours of the morning when traffic is light. You will not receive any notifications from these scans unless a problem is found, in which case we will also be notified and will take the necessary steps to correct the issues.
Adding this to our current security measures was just the right thing to do.
For our Managed Hosting Clients we have also added some tools that will alleviate plugin update worries. All plugins on our managed accounts will now be automatically updated shortly after an update becomes available. The only exception to this will be any updates that require a database backup prior to running the update, in which case we are notified and will manually update the plugin after performing an additional backup of your database.
Speaking of database updates, managed accounts also have their website database backed up daily and the backup files are stored in two separate locations.
